Currently in last mile at Stellantis, Carcheck.AI promises to save up to 3 weeks during the “defleet” of a vehicle

autobiz is taking a new step forward in the automation of appraisals and the digitalisation of remarketing. Based on the Carcheck solution, this innovative technology has been adopted by Stellantis and will be deployed by the end of 2025. This leading partner has already conducted successful trials, with concrete and measurable economic results achieved through optimising fleet return processing and accelerating vehicle recirculation.

Thanks to a complete solution combining digital appraisal and artificial intelligence, Carcheck.AI allows any private individual or professional to appraise a vehicle at the end of a short or long-term rental (to optimise remarketing operations). In just a few minutes, and without the need for a lengthy logistical and human validation process of the fleet, the costs of reconditioning the vehicle before resale are calculated and validated.

This system is already being tested at Stellantis and will ultimately save up to 3 weeks in the vehicle resale process. This significant time saving prevents fleet saturation, particularly during periods of high returns. It also streamlines stock rotation, considerably reduces the costs associated with counter-appraisals, and limits depreciation.

Appraisals in under 6 minutes are now within everyone's reach

Launched in 2020, Carcheck is digitising trade-ins within 1,200 dealerships in France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Germany. Going beyond its “historical” use, Carcheck.AI is now aimed at all users, regardless of their level of expertise.

This version is distinguished by a guided photo sequence and automated damage analysis, offering a fully unified and digital process: the appraisal is done in less than 6 minutes, conducted by a mobile application and its integrated AI, with also the possibility of completing the solution with a scanning booth to accelerate high-volume return flows.

  • The process is optimized to be followed by a professional or an individual (for example the vehicle’s current owner).
  • A damage valuation algorithm is applied automatically based on protocols pre-agreed on with the client.
  • Complete valuations are sent within a few minutes for 70% of files and within less than 12 hours for the remainer, to guarantee continuity in the remarketing process.
  • Carcheck.AI interfaces with the leading providers in automatic damage detection: physical inspection scanners (e.g. Proov) for processing very large volumes, and 100% software solutions to cover all other use cases.

This solution is currently undergoing advanced testing at Stellantis fleets in Hordain (France) and Madrid (Spain), this solution is also aimed at short- and long-term rental companies, vehicle manufacturers, fleet managers, and financing companies who wish to automate and accelerate the management of their vehicle returns.

“By complementing our remarketing process with the use of the Carcheck.AI solution, we are about to address a significant need to accelerate the remarketing process for our trade-ins. Tested in two of our main markets since the summer, the solution allows us, in addition to leveraging the expertise of our technicians, facilitates faster data processing and processing speed for a quicker time to market. It is used alongside other artificial intelligence-based anomaly detection solutions. Feedback from the field suggests that the autobiz solution is promising, and we are considering deploying it on our strategic sites by the end of the year.”

James Weston Stellantis Pre-Owned Vehicles Business Unit.

“This solution has transformed the way we approach the defleet process. Thanks to AI, appraising a vehicle has never been easier – or quicker. Our solution can be adapted to suit any customer, from those with small fleets to those with very large ones. It was designed for both the most common and the most specialised use. Its widespread use is changing the economic landscape of remarketing, as demonstrated by our results at Stellantis and with our other early adopters.”
